Digital Innovation in Applied Informatics during the Pandemic
Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is calling for papers for 2022 APPLIED INFORMATICS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE (AiIC), which will be held from 18 to 19 May 2022 as a virtual conference. The submission deadline is 15 November 2021. All accepted papers will be submitted to IEEE Xplore Digital Library (pending approval).
Outstanding papers will stand a chance to win the Best Paper award for AiIC2022. The winner will be rewarded with a special gift and voucher.
Conference participants who are Professional Technologists under MBOT can claim 5 Continuing Professional Development(CPD) hours for participating in the conference (either as a presenter or an attendee).

FULL PROFESSOR DR. BOUALEM BENATULLAH

IEEE Fellow
Scientia Professor Benatallah research focused on service-oriented computing, software enabled service quality, cloud services, Web service composability and mathematical optimisation techniques for dynamic service composition and synthesis.
His recent work focused on conversational AI enabled services, data curation and quality control in crowdsourcing services. He has over 330 publications, including 270 refereed papers. His research attracted a large amount competitive grant income.
He has been general and program chair for several prominent conferences. He sits on the steering committees of the International Conference on Business Process Management (BPM) and the International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing (ICSOC) – the two main conferences in his areas of research. He is associate editor of major journals in his area of research, including,International ACM Transactions on Web and IEEE transactions on Services Computing. He was associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing. Benatallah has been a visiting professor at INRIA-LORIA, Claude Bernard University, University of Paris Dauphine, University of Blaise Pascal, and University of Trento (Italy). He held the chaire d’excellence professorial fellowship of Auvergne, France.

Mr. Mohamad Hafidz Arifin currently is the managing director at Afta Benefigs Sdn Bhd. He is graduated from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in Bachelor Science Human Resource & Development. His work experienced including as an HR general at TABUNG HAJI TRAVEL (2009) and then HR Recruitment at PETRONAS CARIGALI in 2009 – 2011. Large contribution during at Petronas continues to PETRONAS UPSTREAM MALAYSIA ASSETS (Capability) 2011 - 2013 Covering PMA Terengganu, SKA Sarawak and SBA Sabah Operations and Assets PETRONAS UPSTREAM INTERNATIONAL ASSETS (Centre Of Operational Excellence). In 2013 – 2015, he task covered Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Sudan, Turkmenistan, Brunei, Iraq, Egypt, Canada, Chad, Mexico and Argentina Operations PETRONAS IRAQ GARRAF PCIHBV (Centre Of Operational Excellence. In 2015 - 2018 his experiences added to the field of Transformation agent for Succession Planning and Technology Transfer. Localization specialist for enriching Iraqis stake in the operations of the fields. Further experiences is at AL SAKINAH ENTERPRISE (Owner) 2018 - NOW 3 acres land for fig, Musang King Durian , MD2 Pineapple planting at Janda Baik farm, Pahang. Now, he is a manager at Afta Benefigs Sdn. Bhd . as well as a Founder for 1,200 fig trees plantations for Upstream (fresh fig productions), Midstream (Agro Tourism) and Downstream (fig-based products), JV and consultation with partners all over Malaysia.

MOHAMED IQBAL ABDUL RAHMAN

Mohamed Iqbal Abdul Rahman (Iqbal) joined Pharmaniaga in 2011 as Director of Information Technology before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2012. As the Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for the overall operations of the company. With more than 32 years of experience, mainly in System Improvement & Operations Management, he successfully spearheaded the implementation of the Business Intelligence System and Robotic Process Automation, which led to significant improvement of the company’s logistics operations. He also played a vital role in the successful implementation of the Pharmacy Information System (PhIS) to over 1,200 Ministry of Health (MOH) facilities throughout Malaysia.
On 1 April 2020, he was appointed as Acting Managing Director and subsequently in the same year on 1 September, he was appointed as Deputy Managing Director. During the pandemic, Iqbal was responsible for leading a team to successfully implement fill and finish manufacturing of the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine. This assisted Malaysia in having the fastest vaccination rate in the world.
Prior to joining Pharmaniaga, Iqbal was the General Manager - Head of Operations in Faber Medi-Serve Sdn Bhd (Faber), a provider of hospital support services, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. He was responsible for the company’s overall operations and performance while overseeing all the regional offices, plants and hospitals within the Concession. He was also the key liaison person, leading all the stakeholder engagement activities with MOH.
Preceding his General Manager role, he was the Head of Information and Communication Technology for Faber and Senior Information System Executive for Mayban Assurance Berhad. Early in his career life, he was working as a System Programmer for Maybank Berhad where he was recognized as an outstanding employee.
A Bachelor of Computer Science degree holder from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Iqbal is a strong believer in fit-for-purpose technology and cost improvement. His experience and leadership have been focused on developing and delivering technology-driven business solutions, providing outstanding client service, and driving profitable revenue growth.
