Digital Innovation in Applied Informatics during the Pandemic
It is our pleasure to invite you to the 3rd Applied Informatics International Conference (AiIC2022). The Conference is organized by Universiti Putra Malaysia to escalate research and innovations in Applied Informatics to an internationally recognized level by promoting collaborations between researchers from academia and industry. Applied informatics research is interdisciplinary research in Information Sciences that can benefit practitioners and society.
The world has been devastated by the Covid-19 outbreak for almost 2 years now. The pandemic is unprecedented. The damage caused has been tragic and catastrophic. The pandemic is unlikely to soothe anytime soon as new variants keep emerging despite vaccination being underway. The fight against the deadly Covid-19 virus continues, it seems that we are nowhere close to an end.
Many believe that the way forward is to live with the deadly virus. People are advised to adapt to new norms and businesses are advised to transform with digital innovation. Although herd immunity could be a solution, it may be transient as there are still vulnerable groups in our society.
Infants and people with chronic diseases still have no access to safe vaccines. We learned that prevention and mitigation are imminent. Economically, B40 (bottom 40% in terms of household income) is at risk due to unemployment caused by digital transformation. We also learned that digital innovation should be inclusive. We believe that these are just the tip of the iceberg. Many more open issues could be addressed with applied informatics and digital innovation.
The pandemic is global. We have a common hope and goal across geographical borders, i.e. to put the agony of the pandemic to an end and bring recovery through digital innovation. Hence, we hope to bring together local and researchers abroad to AiIC2022 to confer research outcomes particularly applied Informatics research in addressing opportunities, challenges, and issues related to the pandemic. We appreciate your scientific contribution. An individual effort may be insignificant, but every effort counts. We believe that our collective effort could make a difference.
We are now calling for papers for APPLIED INFORMATICS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE 2022 (AiIC2022) with the theme Digital Innovation in Applied Informatics during the Pandemic. All accepted papers will be submitted to IEEE Xplore Digital Library. Authors with outstanding papers will also stand a chance to win the best paper awards and bring home a special gift and a voucher.
