AiIC2026 represents the 5th International Conference on Applied Informatics, jointly organized by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in collaboration with partner universities and industry stakeholders. The conference serves as a premier platform for researchers, academicians, industry practitioners, and policymakers to exchange ideas, share research findings, and discuss recent developments in applied informatics research and innovation.
In 2026, the conference places a strong emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, reflecting their accelerating influence across industries and societies worldwide. The rapid advancement of generative AI, large language models (LLMs), autonomous systems, and intelligent analytics has significantly reshaped the global digital landscape. These technologies are redefining how organizations operate, innovate, and deliver value. Recognizing their profound economic, industrial, and societal impact, AiIC2026 highlights the urgent need to explore AI-driven solutions, responsible adoption, and future directions in applied informatics.
As AI continues to mature and gain widespread adoption, it signals a paradigm shift across multiple sectors, including healthcare, finance, education, smart manufacturing, and digital governance. While offering unprecedented opportunities, this transformation also introduces critical challenges related to ethics, trust, transparency, security, and sustainability. As a leading public university in Malaysia, UPM is proud to continue positioning AiIC2026 as a key international forum where stakeholders converge to address these challenges, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and advance impactful research in applied informatics.
AiIC2026 will be held in Terengganu, Malaysia, a state renowned for its rich cultural heritage, pristine beaches, and natural beauty. Located along the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Terengganu offers a unique blend of tradition and tranquillity. Participants will have the opportunity to experience iconic attractions such as Crystal Mosque, Islamic Civilization Park, Pantai Batu Burok, and the breathtaking nearby islands including Pulau Redang and Pulau Perhentian. The serene environment of Terengganu provides an ideal setting for academic discourse, reflection, and meaningful networking.
AiIC2026 will bring together international participants in an engaging academic and professional environment, fostering knowledge exchange, collaboration, and innovation among academia, industry, and government sectors.
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings or submitted for consideration in Scopus-indexed journals. Outstanding submissions will be shortlisted for the Best Paper Award, with winners receiving special recognition and awards.
The conference organizers will pursue Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation from the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), enabling registered Professional Technologists and Certified Technicians to claim CPD credits.
